An easy way to discover the history of the city is traveling along the inner ring of canals of Padua.

From the banks of the Bacchiglione river to the centuries-old canals Scaricatore, San Gregorio, and Piovego, you can admire the medieval and Renaissance walls, the ancient river ports and countless glimpses of buildings overlooking canals. A fascinating trip with a different perspective through the rich historical and cultural heritage that characterises the city that has always had an indissoluble bond with water.

The route is mostly on the cycling path (52% dirt road, 48% asphalt) and very minimally on the road. It can be started from whichever point on it but it’s recommended an anticlockwise direction due to the one-way streets in the city centre.
